Über die Veranstaltung
ENGLISH BELOW
Orlando Frido (20), aufgewachsen in Hermsdorf Berlin.

The joint exhibition Softcore Urbanism brings two artistic positions into a confrontational exchange. In their work, Paula Pechar and Orlando Frido explore areas of tension between nature and urbanity, intimacy and public life. While Paula Pechar works with textile and organic materials, Orlando Frido draws on urban forms of expression such as graffiti, club aesthetics and raw materials. The juxtaposition creates a metaphorical duel between soft and hard forms, organic movement and urban stagnation. The exhibition is an attempt to reflect on the destructive but also creative relationship between humans and their environment.
Paula Pechar, 21 years old, grew up in Berlin and focuses on natural elements, organic structures and textile interweavings. The body is at the centre of her work in its fragility, its form and its relationship to sexuality, femininity and identity.
Orlando Frido (20), who grew up in Hermsdorf, Berlin, deals with urban cultures such as graffiti, club culture and drag. He also explores questions of sexuality, identity, personal experiences and the aesthetic and social dimensions of the raw materials of our present, which he condenses into new artistic images.
