We invite you to the October discussion from the 1+1 cycle, which will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the central library on Hviezdoslavová ul. 5.
The invitation to the library was accepted by Ellie Šedivá, the author of the travel book Girl in London and the children's book Samko a pochitkovia, which she will present together with her illustrator Martina Masarovičová. We will talk about life in the British capital, travel, writing and illustration work for children. We will be accompanied musically by the group Soren.
We look forward to seeing you.
Ellie Šedivá comes from Spiš. She studied archeology of the Middle East in Brno and took part in archaeological expeditions in Syria and Turkey, later she worked in an advertising agency. In 2023, she wrote a travel book, Girl in London, published by Backstage Books, fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a writer. In addition, she wrote the children's book Samko a pochitkovia. Ellie is the mother of a three-year-old boy, and it was motherhood that inspired her to write a fairy tale.
