This year's first discussion from the 1+1 cycle will be devoted to the topic of deportations of Czechoslovak citizens to labor camps in the former Soviet Union. The invitation to the library was accepted by writer and journalist Peter Juščák, author of the book ten times Gulag and editor Miroslav Pollak, who, among other things, the issue of gulags deals in the publication Spišské exody in the 20th century. 5 in Košice.
Looking forward to seeing you. He was born in Prešov in 1953. He graduated from the University of Transport in Žilina, devoted to technical professions and work in the media. He worked on the radio, in Smena and SME. He has long devoted himself to the issue of introduced citizens in the Soviet Gulag labor camps. He wrote eight books, collections of stories, novels, documentary books. He is the author of the radio documentary bands, the theme for my father Gulag. He has prepared audiovisual presentations on deported citizens to the USSR and the topic lectures at schools throughout the Slovak Republic. He studied mathematics, sociology, social work and political sciences at several universities in Slovakia and abroad. He served as a deputy in the National Council of the Slovak Republic in the period 1990-1994 and also as the Government Plenipotentiary for the Roma Communities in 2010-2012. He is currently working with several non-governmental non-profit organizations (especially with the civic associations of Beautiful Spiš and the Institute of Employment) within various prophetic, social and human-legal projects. It writes and publishes books focused on current societal problems and needs.
