The Swedish house in Vienna Magnificent building, which today was built the Swedish embassy and the Swedish representation of the OSCE in Vienna in the 1870s on behalf of the journalist, publisher and politician Moritz Szeps as a private palace for him and his family. The property has been owned by the Swedish state since 1928 and has long served as a residence of the ambassador.
In the years 2013-2015, Sweden's state property management carried out a total renovation in which the challenge was to maintain the cultural-historically valuable representation rooms and at the same time a modern, functional and sustainable workplace for the abroad to set up. The ambassador moved out and the message as well as the OSCE delegation moved in and thus got the unique opportunity to use the representation rooms in daily work. The Swedish house at Liechtensteinstrasse 51 is now part of Sweden's cultural heritage abroad.
