--------------------------------
(Scroll down for English) 100 years ago, Sergei Eisenstein struck a lightning bolt in the Screen, followed by a thunder from Edmund Meisel.
In doing so, they made the cinema the heart and brain of society.
Like Zeus, the cinema entered virtual space, our central nervous system.
The enthusiasm of the wage earners quickly mixed with the hysteria of those in power.
Cut to the core, the counterattacks began. Bans, censorship, remakes. One is called Metropolis.
Electricity and steel as a synonym for a dynamic whose end is not war and destruction, which corresponds to the genre conventions of American cinema, but a brotherly/sisterly community in which the social separation of rich and poor is overcome.
This spark (Iskra) is no less electrifying today than the Capriccios of Francisco de Goya or the Eroica of Ludwig van Beethoven.
The Babylon presents the unabridged version with the original score by the Berlin composer Edmund Meisel played live.
After a hundred years, Berlin and Babylon will once again be the center of cinematography. Because everything starts from here and everything finds its way back here.
Convince yourself, experience the renaissance of the eternal, shattering truth! Now and here. Be part of it.
