Dear friends of historical walks,
We would like to invite you to the first historical walk of the year, when we will go to Radlice.
Meeting: Thursday 14 May 2026 from 6:00 p.m.: in front of the Radlická metro station by the "Onion" statue (Relationship between nature and technology)
You will be guided by: Petula Heinriche
Because we will also go to ČSOB building for a very interesting tour and the number of places is therefore limited, it is absolutely necessary to sign up for the walk by e-mail [email protected]. Without registration, you can only participate in the next part, starting with the school for the hearing impaired at Výmolova 169, where the meeting is planned at 6:50 p.m.
Whoever comes to the meeting place after 6 p.m., can also - for organizational reasons - just leave the school.
We will talk further about the history of the village of Radlice, whose origins date back to the 13th century. We will recall the transition of the territory from church to feudal ownership and imagine the transformation of an agricultural village into an industrial suburb of Prague. We will also mention the connection of Radlice to Greater Prague and its current inclusion in the Prague 5 district. We will talk about the history of the local tram line, explain the function of the water tower and show its interesting connection with the tower on Ještěd. We will also learn about the construction of the subway and the ongoing expansion of the Radlická station.
