Campaign 16 days of activism against violence against women is an international campaign that originated from the initiative of the first Women's Global Leadership Institute sponsored by the Center for Women's Global Leadership in 1991. Founders they chose November 25 (Day of the fight against violence against women) as the beginning of the campaign and December 10 (International Day of Human Rights) because they wanted to symbolically link violence against women and human rights and emphasize that such violence is a violation of women's human rights.
