About event
Come with us on a drum trip to Africa! For a while we will leave our Czech “um ca, um ca” and dive into the dance rhythms of West Africa. Musicians at the workshop will present and teach songs and dances from various parts of Western Africa.
The workshop is under the leadership of drummers from Ghana and a student of the doctoral program Antonín Procházka. Christopher Ametefe, Daniel Brown and Sampson Kuudenign are members of the National Ghanaian ensemble for Dance and theater Ghan Dance Ensemble and lecturers at the University of Ghan.
The workshop will build on the concert and improvisation of Ghanaian musicians with pianist Matouš Hejl, percussionist Antonín Procházka and double bass player Petr Tichý. Musicians are inspired to create a feature program in the Synagogue on Palmovka, in which they will sonize the work of Monika Hníková, creation into sound elements. Monica forms with different ratios of the rut engine oil on various materials. The main motifs will be movement and change.
