On Thursday 29 May at 8 p.m. the double bass is central to the Sint Aegten Chapel, Amersfoort. Wilmar de Visser - one of the most versatile double bassists in the Netherlands - celebrates 200 years of double bass together with a group of inspired musical friends.
This evening the fisherman takes you on a journey through time. From classical works to modern compositions, from deep, warm sounds to virtuoso passages - the versatility of the double bass is fully covered.
Wilmar de Visser, known for the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra and the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, plays on his special contrabas from 1825, built built. Together with his guests, he brings a varied program in which the power and diversity of the instrument fully come into its own.
