Pension Klopačka, Špania Dolina. It was born around 2000 to organize a jazz festival. But it took another four years to realize the idea of several Banská Bystrica enthusiasts and at the same time musicians in 2004. At that time, no one has occurred to no one that the local meetings of local jazz bands would become a significant and internationally recognized jazz event over twenty -one years. The good name of the festival and its high level came from a picturesque village in central Slovakia first to Slovakia and then to Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Serbia, USA. Personal enthusiasm and inflammation of several Banská Bystrica jazz musicians and also members of the civic association Jazzar: p. Patrícia Páleníčková, director of o.z. Jazzar, and a member of the Board of Directors Vlad Vizár and Mirka Strháková. The cooperation with the pension Klopačka and its director p. Milan Vigaš. On the question of jazz genre orientation of the festival, the organizers are safely based on the already proven dramaturgical concept - i. The pursuit of genre diverse and varied festival dinner, where the main criterion is mainly the overall artistic quality of jazz concerts.
A significant impact on the possibility of implementing individual years of Jazz Festival Špania Dolina at all, in principle, have always had the state administration authorities in the framework of their subsidy financial programs and possibilities. But the organizers - the creators of the program - this year 2025 had to do without the main financial aid of the Fund for Art Support, and so thanks for enabling the implementation of this 21 year, mainly understanding and supporting the Banská Bystrica self -governing region, the music fund of Slovakia, the Austrian Cultural Forum, the pension Klopačka and the Studio Planni. We are convinced that the program 21. International jazz of the festival in the Spanish valley '2025, will also be very valuable and artistically engaging!
Thanks to the festival organizers and recognition of the festival organizers also includes all visitors, supporters, and fans, without the participation of this event, the realization of this event would be irrelevant!
