About event
On July 4, 1776, the independence of the USA from Great Britain was announced in Philadelphia - 250 years later, the USA is celebrating this event and we want to follow in the footsteps of the Americans in Berlin.
On Clayalle in the southwest of the city was the US headquarters in Berlin-Dahlem, the PX shopping center, the German-American folk festival was celebrated here, many army members lived here with their families.
What did the presence of the US armed forces mean in that time? West Berlin? How did the Americans shape the city? What traces can still be seen today - over 30 years after the departure of the US Army?
Meeting point: At the exit from the Oskar-Helene-Heim subway station on Clayallee.
City guide: Ralph Jakisch
As the number of participants is limited, we ask that you register.
Cost: 14 €
