About event
Shuteen Erdenebaatar (Mongolia)
Moisés P. Sánchez (Spain)
The spring prologue of the 29th International Jazz Piano Festival, organized by the iconic American musician Cyrus Chestnut at the Rudolfinum in May, is followed by the autumn jazz piano festival with a double concert by Mongolian pianist, composer and arranger Shuteen Erdenebaatar and Spanish pianist, composer, improviser and music producer Moisés P. Sánchez. They will be hosted by the hall of the Nusel town hall on November 18.
Despite her youth, Shuteen Erdenebaatar (*1998, Ulaanbaatar) has already managed to build a reputation on the international scene. She is the holder of the prestigious German Jazz Award 2024, which was preceded by a number of other awards. Including 1st place Kurt Maas Jazz Price 2021, including a scholarship to Berklee College Of Music in Boston, USA.
Shuteen is a very versatile musician. Thanks to his classical training, he has performed with the Mongolian State Opera and the Mongolian State Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as with big bands and jazz combos. She leads her own quartet, plays in the Lightville Duo and also founded the twenty-member crossover Chamber Jazz Orchestra. In 2023, she signed a contract with the New York label Motéma, with whom she released the album Rising Sun and is preparing two more titles.

Moisés P. Sánchez (*1979, Madrid) belongs to the most respected jazzmen of the Spanish scene. After all, his album Unbalanced: Concerto For Ensemble (2019) was nominated for a Latin Grammy. In addition to his own 20-year solo career, he has collaborated with personalities such as Plácido Domingo, John Adams and Chuck Loeb.
Shuteen's versatility both in terms of genre and the ability to excel in any cast connects him. He likes to perform with orchestras, he recorded, among other things, with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra, the album Adam The Carpenter (2008). Or alone, as documented by the solo piano recording Soliloquio (2014). He leads a trio and a quintet. He devotes himself to jazz variations of compositions by J.S. Bach and Bartók, but he is also no stranger to jazz-rock fusion. He wrote the ballet Elektra at the request of the Spanish National Ballet. He also works as a producer for Spanish singers and pop stars.
