About event
The lecture aims to introduce the construction development of the company Waldes et al. In Prague Vršovice, which has been and still has been, for more than 100 years, an integral part of this city district. Waldeska, in later years Koh-i-noorka, at the time of its establishment in 1907 represented a modern factory with unprecedented facilities for employees. The development of the company and increasing production in the coming years led to the gradual expansion of the factory area, with extensions or new buildings, until it achieved in the 1930s in the 1920s. This will be documented through period photographs and plans.
The lecture will also include a mention of the company's sports club and the playground operated, located near the factory, near today's building of the Ministry of the Environment. Last but not least, information about the Waldes Museum of the buttons, operated by a company in a nearby house and also unrealized plans for the construction of a house for officials and workers near the factory.
