About event

We will end the final concert of the 59th Prešov Music Autumn with the Czechoslovak Chamber Duo - Pavel Burdych and Zuzana Berešová - a group that has been providing high-quality interpretations of classical works and music of the 20th century since 2004. The duo specializes in Czech and Slovak music and pays special attention to the musical legacy of Béla Kéler, whose works are actively promoted at home and abroad.

They will be joined by young Slovak singers Viktória Ballánová and Pavol Oravec, who are dedicated to opera, operetta, song and sacred music and regularly perform at important festivals.

The concert program commemorates the 205th anniversary. of the birth of Béla Kéler (1820–1882), a native of Bardejov, and at the same time it is dedicated to the late 75th birthday of prof. Irena Medňanská (1950–2020), an important personality of the University of Prešov and promoter of Kéler's work.

The program will feature Kéler's compositions in the context of the works of his contemporaries and followers – Verdi, Donizetti, Strauss, Labitzky, Czibulka, Lehár, Kálmán, Dusík and Kupkovič.

Performers:
Pavel Burdych: violin
Zuzana Berešová: piano
