Please get familiar with the location before the hike because Google Maps goes bonkers at times. Parking could be an issue. Arrive early. If you cannot find a spot in the lot (at the end of the dirt road) or posted parking along the side of Springville Rd, there is parking off of Skyline if you leave Springville and take a right on Skyline. I will be driving a red Mini Cooper.

This will be a moderately paced hike (2-2.5 mph) and hikers will enjoy a workout in one of the county's rare Urban Forests. Dogs will be allowed on this trek. The park is home to barred owls, coyotes, elk, and deer. We will hike its hills and trails and enjoy a workout with like-minded hikers. Be sure you can hike 6 miles in 2 3/4 - 3 hours on hilly and meandering trails.

Forest Park is a green and wooded oasis in NW Portland off Skyline Blvd and NW Springville Rd. Barred owls and deer have been spotted on our past hikes and we will stop, look, and listen for wildlife.

We will meet at the trailhead's gate.

Forest Park is a great place to enjoy a mindful hike. This will be an adults-only hike (18 years old and up) and plan for it to be around 3 hours. Hiking poles are recommended. The trails could be a little muddy.

If you have a spot on this hike and your plans change, please update your RSVP as soon as you know! THX. For more information:

Upper Springville Road: Small parking lot and turn around which provides access to Springville Road and Firelane 7. Springville is open to pedestrians, cyclists, and equestrians; FL7 is open only to pedestrians and equestrians. Also nearby are the Hardesty, Trillium, and Ridge Trails which are pedestrian access only.

My hikes are drug and alcohol-free hikes.
