About event
Seven decades, hundreds of exhibitions, thousands of works of art and countless stories. The regional gallery in Prešov commemorates its 70th anniversary with the exhibition project 70+, which will offer visitors a unique insight into the history, memory and identity of the gallery.
The exhibition will present 70 selected works from the gallery's collections, while each of them opens a specific story - about artists, curators, exhibitions, acquisitions or significant moments that shaped the form of the institution from its inception to the present day. At the same time, the project explores the gallery as a living organism whose identity is created by people, works of art, decisions and events.
The symbolic "plus" in the title refers to everything that is hidden behind the works - relationships, connections, emotions, memory and cultural heritage that goes beyond the collection objects themselves.
The exhibition was created under the leadership of the gallery director and author of the concept, Martin Kudla, in cooperation with the curatorial team:
Marta Hrebíčková, Richard Kitta, Miroslav Kleban, Jana Migašová, Martina Mrázová and Jozef Ridilla.
📅 Vernissage: June 11, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.
📍 Regional Gallery in Prešov, Hlavná 51
🖼 The exhibition will last from June 11 to October 4, 2026
