About event

Synopsis:

The pearl is a poetic parable about the greatness and miseries of the world. An contradictory world, objectified in the ambiguities between poverty and richness, power and stripping, human and more-of-the-way.
From Steinbeck's homonymous work, a narrative originating from a traditional Mexican tale, we know what they call the “pearl of the world” and their interference in the life of a family of fishermen in search of a better life.
Paradoxically, the discovery of this pearl alters the order they have always known, catalyzing reactions in a community marked by the extreme social inequality in which the possibilities of class struggle are reduced and used. Thus we see the attempt to maintain the thin balance between a simple life, in harmony with the earth, but of fragile subsistence. By contrast, we also watched access to material goods that allow your offspring to achieve knowledge and power not to be subdued.
