THE GRAY (SIVEC)
2025. from October 24 - 26, Friday - Sunday.
Sivec means exactly "Grey". We've been here before, but it's been almost 10 years, it's time to visit the rock that resembles a gray rooster's crest again. We hope to have good weather and enjoy the autumn splendor of Bujanszki Hill's vegetation, bathed in the reflection of the Ruzsini water reservoir.
Meeting: in the parking lot of Tesco in Kasa at 9:30 a.m.
Travel: from Kazincbarcika or Miskolc on a route suitable for everyone, individually or by organizing carpools. Leave at a time so that you can be there at the agreed time and do your shopping by then!
From here we continue driving to the small settlement of Kassahámor (Kosicke Hamre), half an hour away, which is part of Kassabéla (Kosicke Bela) and beyond.
Route:
1. day: Kasahámor/Kosicke Hamre, Ruzsini bridge/Ružín, now – pod Drienkovou skalu – Priehyba pod Sivcom – Sivec – Priehyba pod Sivcom – Drienková skala – Kasahámor/Kosicke Hamre, Ruzsini bridge/Ružín, now.
Distance: 10.5 km. Level: 551 m. Travel time: 3 h 30 p.
Accommodation: Nearby in a pleasant place, (Chata Ružín, or Jekkelfalván/Jaklovce in the gas station pension.
Day 2: Kasahámor/Kosicke Hamre, Ruzsini bridge/Ružín, now – György-forrás/Gregorov pramen – Prednŷ Ginter – Solymári rock/Folkmárská skala – sedlo Zemičky – ATC Turist club – Kasahámor/Kosicke Hamre, Ruzsini bridge/Ružín, now.
Distance: 18.2 km. Level: 825 m. Travel time: 5 h 30 p.
Accommodation: In the previous place.
3. day: Surprise tour! But an idea:
We drive to Margecsány/Margecany by car, take the train there, travel to Korompa/Krompachy.
Korompáig/Krompachy railway station – Plejsy ski center – Plejsy chaty – Plejsy - Priehyba – Dúbrava – (From here you can see Szepes castle beautifully) Jekkelfalva/Jaklovce – Margecsány/Margecany.
Distance: 18.8 km. Level: 715 m. Travel time: 5 h 25 p.
With the ski lift of Plejsy, 1.2 km and 350 m elevation gain can be achieved!
Σ Distance: 47.5 km. Σ Level: 2091 m.
Return: from Margecany/Margecany with cars.
Participation fee: None. The tour guide will inform you of the accommodation fee, which must be paid by the specified deadline. After that, you can apply.
Meals: self-catering, or you can cook the picked mushrooms...
Application: by August 20, 2025 with the tour guide.
Other: Moderately difficult and spectacular tours.
