About event
What lies behind the elevated beauty of the Gothic cathedrals? How is the order of the created world reflected in medieval architecture? Zoltán Bereczki, an architect, a lecturer at the University of Debrecen, examines the deeper, geometric and intellectual context of the Gothic architecture. Behind the big arches and stones, there is a precisely edited order that seeks to mapn the divine logic of creation.
The performance also pays special attention to the phenomenon of the micro architecture: how the miniature versions of large forms are repeated in details of the buildings - in the gates, in the sculpture. These forms have not only aesthetic but also theological and philosophical meanings.
The program is for all those who are interested in meeting points for architecture, symbolism and sacred thinking.
