The Prague Headphone Festival is inspired by the Le Placard concept, which he came up with in Paris in in 1999 Erik Minkkinen (see interview in A2 no. 7/2012). In the Czech Republic, it was initiated by a French musician settled in Prague, Romano Krzych – the first year took place in 2012 in the Communication space Školská 28, and the cultural fortnightly A2 and the publishing house KLaNGundKRaCH also collaborated on it. The next part took place in Karlin Studios in 2015, and then the day-long festivals moved to the Žižkov cultural center Punctum. it tends to be common, but in the company of other people. This concept of live and at the same time completely private listening has won many fans all over the world - partly because the production is not only put into the headphones at the given place, but is also streamed.
The festival takes place without a dramaturgy. Anyone who wants to contribute with a sound performance, a DJ set or even a spoken word can sign up, plug in their equipment and play (technical limitations due to the nature of the headphone festival predetermine mainly electronic and quieter acoustic music projects to participate).
Entrance is voluntary. Only a limited number of headphones will be available, so we recommend that you bring your own.
A2+ is a series of the cultural fortnightly A2, running since 2012. It focuses on the fringes or frontier areas of contemporary music, especially to experimental approaches, free improvisation, various hybrid expressions and subversive forays into pop territory.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic and the City Hall of Prague.
