About event
We are pleased to invite you to an author panel and discussion dedicated to The Routledge Handbook of 1989 and the Great Transformation.
This cutting-edge collection of essays analyses the year of 1989 and the transformation processes that resulted from a historical perspective. It takes the events of that momentous year as a pivot to explore longer-term processes of economic, social, political, and cultural transformation linked to the rise of neoliberalism and globalization since the 1970s and enduring until now.
đź‘ĄThree contributors and editors will introduce the book and discuss its themes:
▪️ Rosamund Johnston, postdoctoral researcher, Research Center for the History of Transformations (RECET)
▪️ Jannis Panagiotidis, scientific director, Research Center for the History of Transformations (RECET)
▪️ Matej IvanÄŤĂk, assistant professor, Department of General History, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University Bratislava
🎤The discussion will be moderated by Zuzana Maďarová, researcher, Institute of European Studies and International Relations, Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Comenius University Bratislava.
Join us for this conversation on the legacies of 1989 and the broader dynamics of global transformation.
This event will be held in English.
