Discover the beauty and secrets of some corners of Prague Castle under the cover of night. Come in the Advent season to soak up the beautiful pre-Christmas atmosphere. Get to know the unrepeatable atmosphere of Prague Castle in the Advent pre-Christmas time after dark, when even the biggest onslaught of tourists has already subsided. Listen to the interesting stories that are connected to this place surrounded by many legends, a place where you are confronted with history at almost every step.
What will you learn and maybe you had no idea about it before?
1. When was Prague Castle founded? And what does it have to do with the first Czech saint, the grandmother of St. Wenceslas, the martyr Ludmila?
2. Where could the Žiži hill, an ancient pagan cult site, be located?
3. What treasures are hidden under the pavement of the third castle courtyard?
4. How many churches would we find in Prague Castle, i.e. in its area?
5. Who Really Lived in Golden Lane? And which house is said to be used to enter another dimension, i.e. parallel Prague?
6. What place does Christmas have in the Czech lands and their Christian tradition? And what is the original meaning of Midnight Mass?
7. What could Christmas Day have looked like at the medieval royal court, for example the court of the Emperor and King Charles IV?
You will learn not only that, but also something else.
Come for a walk, learn something and experience something! Under the cover of night. With views of the play of lights during Advent in the largest continuous historical castle area in the world (at least according to the Guinness Book of Records) and a beautiful view of the Prague skyline from a place that many people like to fix their eyes on. So this time from the other side.
The event does not include a visit to the objects with paid entry.
