AFA fest 2026

In May 1996, the masked Police unit of Roza invaded the gap of the Zizkov club during the benefit concert for the imprisoned P. K., who killed the neo -Nazi and activists Green Anarchist in self -defense. The police armed with the submachine guns beat the visitors of the punk concert, and the state structures then swept away complaints about brutal illegal intervention from the table. In response to this unprecedented raw raid, a Czech anti -fascist event was created.
AFA did not arise by accident. Since 1991, neo -Nazi violence has been growing - racist and neo -Nazi fights have left two dozen dead and hundreds of injured people. Among the victims were two anti -fascists: Filip Venclík (1993) and Zdeněk Čepela (1994). The police intervened lukewarm against this wave of violence, on the other hand, it systematically bullied.
Afa has defined four goals from the beginning: protection of space for the anarchist movement, its promotion, fighting neo -Nazism and state power and preventing the public operation of the Ultra -right. Although at the beginning it formed the organization only a very narrow activist core, its continuous work built a wide structure that was able to influence public opinion and exert intensive pressure on neo -Nazis to limit their organizations. With gradual steps, AFA was able to combine the unorganized anti -fascist movement and turned the situation within a few years that it has reduced and stopped the growing neo -Nazi activities and efforts to break into politics. Concerts, festivals with the participation of thousands of people and respect for respect even beyond the Czech Republic. The aim was to push out radical racists from the streets and to ensure space for their own activities and for people who otherwise threatened political orientation or gender violence. What does anti -fascist resistance look like today when authoritarian and xenophobic tendencies grow all around us? Although neo -Nazis and racists do not normally think of on the street today, as it was then, the situation was disastrous in the real state of politics and overall society. We want to understand what we can use today, at a time when authoritarian methods return, strengthen in new forms and threaten our freedom. It's been 30 years, but the fight is still ongoing and is more topical than ever.
Come to this unique festival of great bands, come to see interesting and new documents and lectures, come to meet and discuss, have fun and support us!
