ABOUT THE HOST
Breathing fresh air into the Amsterdam improv scene, South African trumpeter James McClure has formed a new band called SOFAYA as part of SITProductions. The group dives into the rich and diverse culture of South African music heritage, embracing the grooves, melodies and intentions that have become so deeply ingrained into South Africa’s sound. SOFAYA play original music as well as important compositions from local unsung heroes, with hopes of spreading the love and knowledge they share for their music, and ultimately shine light onto South African artists.
