About event
A full record of black metal steeped in wildness, melancholy and sadness when Ole Luk hosts Radar with Disgust! : 200,-
_____________
Afsky is Ole Luk's (Heltekvad, Solbrud), solo project that takes its point of departure in traditional black metal, mixed with elements from folk music and doom with a touch of wildness and melancholy.
The project Absky saw the light of day back in autumn 2015, when the first release, an EP of three tracks, was self-released digitally and later on CD. Since then, things went quickly, and already the following spring a single and music video followed, which were later re-released on the EP in a vinyl edition on the German Vendetta Records. In 2017, Afsky's first full-length album 'Sorg' followed, 'Ofte jeg dreamer mig død' in 2020 and the acoustic EP 'I stilhed' from 2022.
Afsky was not created with the intention of becoming a live project, but as a personal project for the mastermind Ole, where all fleeting ideas could be gathered and become reality. On demand, Afsky has become a live band, and over recent years, Afsky has shared stages with bands such as Wolves in the Throneroom, Winterfyltteth, Uada, Mork, Spectral Wound, Mayhem, Panopticon and more.
In 2023, Afsky's third album 'Om Hundrede År' was released with six cuts, which is the most personal record to date. About the publication, Ole Luk said:
"'Om Hundrede År' stands out in the way that I have started from something that does not stem from anything negative. A tribute to life, if you will .I wanted to see if it was possible for me to make a record where criticism is not directed at something that a lot of metal lyrics are based on - including my own I wanted to do something different. The album is about life and about feelings. The feeling of knowing that one day you will not be here anymore. Thoughts that the ones you love will no longer be there. Thoughts that life is unique and therefore precious, and that you shouldn't throw it away. Thoughts that there is something I want to achieve while I am here on earth."
Musically, the music on 'Om Hundrede År', at times some of the best he's done says Ole Luk:
"The work has set many thoughts in motion within me. It is without a doubt the most personal thing I have done, and I have been on a journey inside myself while the work has been on."
You'll get a bit of everything when Ole Luk visits Radar with Absky on Saturday 30 November, and a huge live experience is guaranteed.
We look forward to seeing you 🖤
