About event
Agnieszka Mastalerz "No Mental Scars, No Nursed Grudges"
Opening: Wednesday March 19 at 19:00
Vun Košice
Rumanova 1, Kunsthalle Košice
Exhibition examines control mechanisms and interaction between human body and technology. Two gymnasts and robotic arm show choreography, which they have learned with various methods. Gymnas create acrobatic pieces in which an older athlete supports the younger, which alternately relies on the instrument to perform his acrobatics. Their movements, captured by a camera installed on a precise robotic arm, are slowed to reveal every detail, tension or uncertainty. At the same time, the robot assumes a performance task by performing a pre -programmed sequence, thus highlighting dichotomy between organic interpretation and mechanical performance. Its work focuses on control mechanisms and processes that affect and use individuals. Through the poetic visual language, it examines the restrictive rules applied in intimate relationships, communities, states, corporations and even in relation to the natural environment. Its research, based on research, is primarily video -oriented and integrates scientific imaging techniques and performance elements. Institute
