About event
🧵 The story of the city is not only created by elites. Its form was also shaped by craftsmen 🛠️, artists 🎨, officials and representatives of many professions who took part in its daily functioning.
📍 A series of installations in the courtyard of the Old Town Hall called I am a Bratislavian*ka is our retrospective - with the aim of presenting the stories of "ordinary" people from our collections and showing that museums also fix human stories in the city's memory, that's all you have to do realize.
❓ What stories would you like to see in the museum?
❤️ In the next installation, we will present one of the first history graduates in Slovakia, Oľga Wagnerová (1902 – 1976).
🏛️ She made a fundamental contribution to the development of the Bratislava City Museum in the years 1927 – 1941. When she joined, the museum registered approximately 6,000 collections objects, after her departure there were over 22,000. Together with Alžbeta Mayerová, she prepared the first comprehensive Catalog of the Museum of the City of Bratislava in 1933. In addition to taking care of the collections and duties as a museum administrator, she organized exhibitions, wrote specialist texts and accompanied visitors and important guests.
What was then ensured by a narrow circle of people, today is developed by specialized MMB teams, who build on the foundations created by Wagner's pioneering work.
Installation curator: Jana Jablonická Zezulová
Project curatorship: Daniel Hupko and Linda Mendelová.
