The territory of Slovakia is covered with mountains from two thirds of its area. They are a significant part of the country and, like it is now, have been used for different types of activities in the past. In the lecture, the author will focus on the use of the mountain areas of Slovakia in the Železná Age (approx. It will introduce a mosaic of activities that our ancestors have used in the past a mountain country and leaving their traces in archaeological and paleoenvironmental records. In concrete examples, it will show how people used the site for the residence, how they provided food, acquired raw material sources, produced various artifacts, and introduces us to the world of ancient rituals.
