Kaash (Hindi for "if only") is a mesmerizing fusion of contemporary dance and the Indian classical form of Kathak, created in collaboration with visionary artist Anish Kapoor and musician Nitin Sawhney.

"It's important to remember the value of what we can't touch. Isn't the space inside the glass what makes it useful? Similarly, the silence between steps, the gaps between musical phrases and empty spaces in space contain all the secrets of their eventual forms.”
— Akram Khan

🌫️ DUST — A dance full of pain and power.

Strong. Emotionally. Enthralling.

Akram Khan's contemporary ballet to the music of Jocelyn Pook is a memento of war - and a tribute to the steadfastness of women.

Originally created for English National Ballet. The choreographer was inspired by the concept of the trenches, where men left and eventually died.

The strongest inspiration was women, their steadfastness and strength.
During World War 1, there was a huge social shift towards women, who meant a huge workforce in the manufacture of weapons. The work depicts the steadfastness, strength and importance of women during war.

🎶 The emotional music features the voice of counter tenor Jonathan Peter Kenny, interpreting the poem In Flanders Fields.

"They knew they were sending fathers, husbands and sons to war, they knew they could lose them. Yet they made weapons that they killed the fathers, husbands and sons of those on the other side. It didn't matter which side you were on - both sides felt loss and death. But in order for someone to live, someone else risked their life. I wanted to explore this cyclical thing.”
