Multi-awarded pianist and composer Alan Bartuš will perform with Grammy Award-winner Wayne Escoffery.

DownBeat named Alan Bartuš the future of jazz. The young Slovak jazz pianist Alan Bartuš has achieved another significant international success. The renowned American magazine DownBeat included him among the "Jazz Soloists for the Future", which marked him as one of the most prominent up-and-coming personalities of world jazz.

On this occasion, Alan Bartuš will play two exceptional concerts in Slovakia with his international quartet. The main concert of the Slovak tour will take place on June 7, 2026 at Nádvorí SOS, Dolná 35 in Banská Bystrica. The second Slovak concert will be played by the quartet on June 10, 2026 in Bratislava.
The important Grammy-awarded African-American saxophonist Wayne Escoffery, who is one of the respected names of the contemporary New York jazz scene, will join the project as a special guest. During his career he collaborated with legends such as Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Tom Harrell.

The quartet will perform in the line-up:
• Alan Bartuš – piano/ compositions
• Štefan Bartuš – double bass
• Joris Dudli – percussion instruments
• Wayne Escoffery – tenor saxophone

DownBeat magazine highlighted Bartuš's artistic maturity, originality and distinctive authorship in its profile voice. Pianist Danny Grissett said about him: "Alan is a very strong soloist, with a bold voice and the potential to become one of the leading voices of his generation."
Alan Bartuš is one of the most outstanding talents of the young generation of European jazz. He is a semi-finalist of the prestigious Herbie Hancock International Jazz Piano Competition, holder of the Dave Brubeck Composer Award, Ö1 Austrian Jazz Prize and other international awards. He studied in Vienna and at the Manhattan School of Music, where he still works today.
