Alan Bartus Trio - Deep Roots | March Mini Tour 2026
Pianist and composer Alan Bartus, one of the most prominent representatives of the young jazz generation from Slovakia, is coming in March 2026 with a concert Deep Roots Mini Tour, during which he will present his original project Alan Bartus New York Trio - Deep Roots.
Bartus works between Slovakia, Austria and the USA, and during his studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, he was active in the local jazz scene. He has collaborated with musicians such as Jeff "Tain" Watts, Jerry Bergonzi, Melissa Aldana, Dezron Douglas, Reginald Veal, Tim Ries and Rodney Green.
As a semi-finalist of the Herbie Hancock International Jazz Piano Competition 2023, he is among the most outstanding young jazz pianists of his generation. In 2025, he was also included in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 Slovakia (Arts) ranking and is the recipient of the Dave Brubeck Composer & Pianist Award.
The Deep Roots project presents original compositions rooted in the jazz tradition, strongly influenced by experiences from the New York jazz scene. The project's music combines modern rhythmic language, collective improvisation and the prominent piano handwriting of the project leader.
The album Deep Roots was recorded with drummer Michael Ode and double bassist Stefan "Pišt" Bartuš.
