About event

Folkar cooperation with the experimenter sounds good as a good as a wild combination. But Alasdair Roberts and Fredrik Rasten show that the abyss between these approaches is shallower to see. The couple will perform in Prague 21 July in the Community Garden of Libosis. Its production published mainly on Drag City includes both its own work and the interpretation of Scottish and other traditionals. In both positions, the peculiar voice and recitation stand out: singing, however sure, as if Kodrcal - rather than gracefully circling - around the clear guitar lines. The resulting earthy effect is the perfect antidote for all artificiality in music. As a guitarist and a composer who has made recordings on Editions Wandelweiser or Ftarri, he focuses on pure intonation and creates intimate, friendly but not trivial sound environments. In addition to old music, minimalism and reductionism, he is also inspired by folk traditions. The source material develops into melancholy pastoral litany, where intertwining voices and guitars are complemented by banjo or piano and subtle drone. The grim narratives are particularly captivating in this submission. NieSner has long been active in the duo with Jakub Šimanský, where they develop the legacy of American primitivism, as well as in the spheres of close ambient, which includes especially the valued album Bečvou, his solo guitar production is a more personal view of Fingerpicking. Inspiration, especially Robbi Bash, is still evident, but NieSner's alarms tend to lyrical positions in which the emphasis is on the material and ambient inspiration or Czech and Indian folk music. They also appreciated the evil effect of this clear music at PitchForc. Prague.
