About event

Reading and conversation, moderation: Axel Haase

Alina, adopted and sheltered in a wealthy family near Basel, leads a comfortable life - until suddenly clairvoyant visions change her existence. These unexpected inspirations not only push Alina to her limits, but also put the family balance to the test.
The novel tells the story from the perspective of Judith, the biological daughter, and vividly illuminates the psychological challenges that such unusual experiences bring with them. Without esoteric glorification, the book shows the resistance of a society that has difficulty accepting the mysterious.
Based on careful research into real cases, this story invites you to see the unknown with new eyes - a captivating portrait of family, mystery and the search for understanding.

Alexandra Lavizzari, born in Basel in 1953, lived in Nepal, Pakistan and Thailand from 1980 to 2000 and is now, after a long stay in Italy, more or less based in southwest England, where she works as a painter in addition to writing. Her first literary work, the novella “A Summer”, was published in 1999. “What Alina Saw” is her first novel with PalmArtPress.
