Disturbed horizon
opening: 14.5. 2026 from 18:00
exhibition: 15.5. – 13.6. 2026
Cluda, Veverkova 28, Praha7

The exhibition Disturbed Horizon presents a painterly cross-section of works that move on the border between construction and decay. Fragments of construction sites, landscapes and ruins are assembled into images where reality deviates slightly. In their background, there is a loss of orientation — a moment when faith disappears and there remains a silent wandering in the space between what was not completed and what has already disappeared.

Alexey Klyuykov (*1983, Vladimir, RU) is a visual artist and illustrator. For a long time he worked in a pair with Vasil Artamonov, with whom they won the Jindřich Chalupecký Prize in 2010. He mainly focuses on the medium of painting, he is interested in the concept of realism in the art of the 20th century and the possibilities of realism today.

As an illustrator, he collaborates with a number of periodicals, publishing houses, cultural institutions and architectural studios. He lives and works in Prague.

Represented in collections: National Gallery Prague, Gallery of the City of Prague, Gallery of Modern Art in Hradec Králové

Selection of exhibition projects: Lessons in Realism, Display, Prague 2024, Manuš means Man, Kunsthalle Wien, 2021 (together with the Averklub collective), Dead and Alive, 9th Triennale of Contemporary Art U3, Ljubljana, 2019, Jiwa, Jakarta Biennale 2017, 2076, OGV, Jihlava, 2011, Clay Flag, Crypta747, Turin, 2009. 6 p.m.

Disrupted Horizon presents a cross section of paintings on the border between construction and disintegration. Fragments of construction sites, landscapes, and ruins come together to form images in which reality is slightly skewed.
In the background a sense of disorientation emerges—the moment when faith wanes, leaving nothing but silent wandering through the space between what remains unfinished and what has already ceased to exist.

Alexey Klyuykov (*1983, Vladimir, RU) is an artist and illustrator. He has long collaborated with Vasil Artamonov, and as a duo they won the 2010 Jindřich Chalupecký Award. Klyuykov focuses predominantly on painting, with an interest in the concept of realism in twentieth-century art as well as its contemporary possibilities.

He has collaborated as an illustrator with a range of periodicals, publishing houses, cultural institutions, and architecture studios. He lives and works in Prague.
