About event
ALF Carlsson/Jiří Kotača Quartet
--------------------------------------------
The fresh ALF ALF CARLSON/Jiří Kotač Quartet project is a joint project of Swedish guitarist Alfa Carlsson and Czech trumpeter Jiří Kotač. These two award -winning musicians joined the study in Rotterdam, Netherlands and half a year after their return to their native countries and the planned Alfa trip to the Czech Republic, which eventually became a short cord and then a regular band. The Quartet released the highly award -winning second album Our Stories in 2024. And as the leading music journalist Milan Bator writes: "This album meets the highest standards of the world's active approach to jazz." Everything they like, the influences of lyrical Scandinavian music and modern jazz with a pinch of R'n'b, hip hop, pop and rock, mixes in their music. All this, tinged with live electronics, creates a unique sound combination of this band, which emphasizes sound variety and strong melodies. Alf Carlsson composed the music for the Nobel Peace Prize and Jiří Kotača holds the Angel Award and the Czech Jazz Harvest Prize. The band's duo was complemented by the most wanted Slovak jazzmen of the young generation - Peter Korman on the double bass/bass and Kristián Kuruc on drums. The band played dozens of concerts at jazz festivals and clubs in Sweden, Bulgaria, Austria, Italy, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
