About event
The Berlin Soloists' Choir presents 'Old Christmas Songs New'.
If you listen to Christian Steyer and his Berlin Soloists' Choir, you can feel them: the pulsating energy of old German Christmas songs. The Berlin-based composer and actor has carefully edited well-known pieces such as "Es ist ein Ros' sprung", "Maria went through a thorn forest" or "I'm standing at your nativity scene here" with elements from various genres and transformed them into a tonal miracle for choir and piano. A pleasant change from the usual music-making at Christmas time and a delight for lovers of modern and classical music alike.
«Christian Steyer enchanted the audience together with the singers of the jazz choir. … Surprise and goosebumps among the listeners.” (Sächsische Zeitung)
“Christian Steyer manages to get people to sing in a way that they themselves would hardly have thought possible.” (Dresdner Latest News)
Steyer is known to an audience of millions as the speaker for the Leipzig Zoo program Elefant, Tiger & Co and an actor in many television and cinema productions (Dark (Netflix), Huck Finn, Usedomkrimi, Police Call, Paul and Paula and many more).
