About event
◾️ Alternativa meets Prague Quiet Music Collective ◾️
On the second of November, the sound of the Australian deserts, mining folklore and live electronic processing will be heard in the opulent premises of the Troja Castle.
The last eve of this year's festival will take place under the supervision of the Prague Quiet Music Collective.
◾️Josten Myburgh: a new composition for PQMC
Conceptualized by the Australian composer and saxophonist Josten Myburgh's sounds are a place and at the same time tell stories about the places they've visited. His work begins with the question of what happens to places when they are "moved" by sound. Field recordings for this track were made in remote regions of Western Australia. Josten uses both "found" harmonies from the predominantly colonial Australian tradition and intervals from natural tuning and weaves these different logics together in poetic and slow-flowing compositions.
◾️Michal Cáb: Behind our humny play strangely
As part of the accompanying program to the exhibition Album of Slow-Motion Pictures, Michal Cáb will prepare a sound event for the specific acoustics of the space. You will hear non-standard playing on modular synthesizers, low tones of bass clarinet and double bass clarinet, folk microtoning chants from the miner and others. All this within the approximate observance of the Music is Obsolete manifesto.
◾️Michal Rataj & Ian Mikyska
An electroacoustic and spatial set by two improvising composers surrounds and absorbs the audience with the sounds of viola da gamba and baroque Ian Mikyska's recorders, which become the basis for the timbre, spatial and temporal processing of Michal Rataj's live electronics.
The concert will take place in cooperation with the Prague Capital Gallery.
