About event
Immersed in the encounters of Afro-Brazilian cultures and also in the influences of the teachings of yoga philosophy, Brazilian singer and composer Alvaro Lancellotti refined his experiences in the terreiros to create his new studio work, Arruda, Alfazema e Guiné. The project unites spiritual and musical universes as fundamental pieces for its conception, without being tied to a fixed aesthetic. The sound is filled with terreiro songs, with strong references to the album Krishnanda, an experimental tropicália work and the only studio recording by Pedro Santos, from 1968. The result of the album is a collection of twelve songs linked to Afro-Brazilian spirituality. The artist illuminates the theme by presenting new sounds guided by spontaneity and contemporaneity. Arruda, Alfazema e Guiné arrives on streaming platforms on October 4th, and crowns a sequence of releases of two singles by the North American record label Amor in Sound.
