Prog giant Dream Theater, which enjoyed huge popularity in Finland, is celebrating its 40th anniversary and is heading on a huge tour to celebrate the anniversary, which will be published today in Europe. The An Evening With Dream Theater 40th Anniversary Tour also arrives in Finland, where the band will be seen at Espoo's Metro Areena on November 6.
The tour starting in October is meaningful for the band in many ways, and a special reason for joy is Dream Theater traveling again in the line-up from 14 years ago, with drummer Mike Portnoy returning to the band's ranks alongside James LaBrie, John Myung, John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess. Portnoy and the rest of the band parted ways after the Black Clouds & Silver Linings album released in 2009.
Dream Theater, which has won countless awards in its career and has also been awarded a Grammy, says that the upcoming nights will include the band's classics from over the years, but also the band's own favorites , so it will be an unforgettable evening.
"This tour is going to be incredibly special for all of us. Every show is sure to be full of anticipation and different emotions. We can't wait to get on stage together again and start celebrating our historic 40-year career with everyone this fall . And this is just the beginning, there will be a lot of exciting news in the coming months," says the band.
Dream Theater, who have sold more than 15 million albums during their career so far, have been enjoying themselves recently in their own DTHQ studio, where the band, working again in a classic line-up, is working on their 16th studio album in a row. More information about the upcoming release will be available in the near future.
