About event

Even after more than three decades have passed since the release of their legendary debut album “Burn My Eyes”, the Californian metal giants Machine Head are one of the most vital and successful formations in the history of global thrash metal. Stylistically always on the pulse of the present, at the same time significantly independent and therefore absolutely timeless, the quartet, despite their uncompromising, massively rumbling sound aesthetic, played their way into the hearts and into the top star league of the global metal community with their first album - and has maintained this prominent status with every subsequent album since then. This is particularly true in this country, as their current 11th album “Unatøned”, released last April, climbed into the top ten of the German album charts, like its four predecessors. After the band only played a single club show in Germany between numerous festival engagements on their last visit to Europe in 2024, which was completely sold out in no time, they are offering the full pampering program for their long-time fans on their upcoming tour: Between April 13th and May 8th, 2026, they will be joining us for eight concerts in Hamburg, Berlin, Zwickau, Munich, Saarbrücken, Ludwigsburg, Wiesbaden and Cologne - without a special Guests, a whole evening just with Machine Head.
Machine Head are among the representatives of their genre who are constantly looking forward. They constantly redefine themselves and their sound, play with pieces from speed, dark and groove metal - and in the end they are always completely themselves. The formation around the gifted front shouter and guitarist Robert Flynn is considered, alongside Pantera and Sepultura, a blueprint for a modern, driven version of metal. With their debut “Burn My Eyes” in 1994, Machine Head gained worldwide recognition and revitalized thrash metal with brutal sounds. It was already clear back then that they were hitting a nerve with their uninhibited style. Whether in the USA, England, Germany or Scandinavia - the album soon climbed into the top 30 of the charts everywhere. Also the successors "The More Things Change..." (1997), "The Burning Red" (1999), "Supercharger" (2001), "Through The Ashes Of Empires" (2003) "The Blackening" (2007) and "Unto The Locust" (2011), "Bloodstone & Diamonds" (2014), "Catharsis" (2018), "Of Kingdom and Crown" (2022) and the current “Unatøned” found themselves in the international hit lists and received numerous specialist awards - despite their desire for continuous change. “Unatøned”, which is stylistically based on the heavy groove metal of their debut album, is a direct counter-proposal to the previous concept album: instead of sprawling prog metal reels up to ten minutes long, the new songs deliberately all stay under the four-minute mark and focus on surprising harmony and mood changes that are otherwise unknown in thrash metal.
