⊹> The exhibition presents a new Any delmeida project chapter collective archive (since 2014) that examines the archive policy and dynamics of personal and collective memory. Photos taken from 1978 to 1987 by the artist's father, a Portuguese student in the former Czechoslovakia. Although the photos were taken without artistic ambitions, they carry the imprint of political engagement formed by the Portuguese Carassian Revolution (1974), which was reflected in his daily life in socialist Czechoslovakia before the Velvet Revolution (1989). Euphoria, such as memory and nostalgia, travel across generations, and how past struggles resonate in today's atmosphere of disillusionment and the rise of the far right forces. Her sculptural works open up space for contemplation, suspension and volatile political potential of the images they contain. Videos that use reading from lips and sign language situated the semiotics of the revolution into the constant translation process. spheres. In his artistic practice, De Almeida works with archives and processes of mentioning from a social political perspective. Her works focus on the intersection of family stories and macropolitical events, as well as on the privatization of history.
