Andy Middleton is one of the top saxophonists and jazz composers who live in Europe today. "One of the strongest tenor and soprano of saxophonists on the scene," says Randy Brecker, Andy is a skilled improviser and a composer whose expression width ranges from wild power to gentle ferity, from lyrical beauty to rhythmic drive that sounds simultaneous for a saxophone line. His songs, harmoniously modern and melodic, but clearly rooted in jazz tradition, provide the perfect environment. . He also performed and recorded with a long list of artists including Billy Hart, Maria Schneider, Richie Beirach, Renee Rosnes, Randy Brecker, Bob Mintzer, Ron McClure, Bill Evans, Lionel Hampton, Joey Calderaraszo, John Abercrombie, Steve Rodby, Scott Colley and Adam Nussbaum and Adam Nussbaum and Adam Nussbaum. .
Middleton has won a number of prizes and awards, among them the first prize, the best soloist, the best arranger at the 13th europ of Europ 'Jazz Contest in Belgium (1991), as well as an excellent jazz soloist in Down Beat ( 1987). "... solos that demonstrate the absolute championship of his saxophones from an emotional and technical point of view. Each note hits the trail, but it also reveals a remarkable feature of leadership that nothing is done on halfway. ”All About Jazz Itals
