Andy Warhol - American dream /Ľubomír Ján Slivka / Slovakia 2023 /90 min. - A documentary film about the life and work of one of the world's largest artists tells the intimate story of Andy's family. How did the son of Ruthenian immigrants succeed in the New York art scene, gain world glory and influence artistic styles across many genres? The document consisting of the testimonies of family members and well -known, international experts and art historians is complemented by unique authentic shots from Andy's life on two continents. On the one hand, the film returns to the distant past, when hundreds of men and women to work in America, including the future parents of Andy Warhol, were leaving the poor parts of Slovakia and the east of Slovakia. At the same time, it brings exceptional interviews with Andy's family members, such as his nephew James, or childhood friends who reveal a fascinating life story of a shouted boy from a poor Slavic ghetto in Pittsburg, who became the art icon of the 20th century.
