Anyone who, like Angelika Niescier, always manages to free music “from the confines of the familiar” (source: Fono Forum) and thereby transform comfort zones into creative islands, definitely deserves to be heard. With her current trio, which includes the young American style designer Tomeka Reid on cello, Niescier continues to work tirelessly on mapping previously undiscovered niches of contemporary experimental jazz. Every concert is a new event.
