ANJA LECHNER - FRANÇOIS COUTURIER

She, Anja Lechner, is a classic cellist very interested in improvisation; He, François Couturier, is a French jazz pianist who goes far beyond jazz. Together they are half the Tarkovsky Quartet and both are habitual presences in the exquisite ECM productions. "It moves naturally in the dream room," said filmmaker Ingmar Bergman from another reference director, Andrej Tarkovskij, and this phrase can also be applied to the music made by this duo, of an amazing affinity. In their two albums so far, Moderate Cantabile and Lontano, have played Music from G.I. Gurdjieff, Komitas, Anouar Brahem and Frederic Mompou, apart from Couturier's own work and diverse arrangements that can go from Argentine folk to contemporary music. As a duo they have their own, powerful, sensitive, exciting voice, and will undoubtedly turn the Liceu conservatory into a camera to dream. Do they point?
