About event
As part of the May cycle "The weight of memory, the power of hope", Arnold's villa and Little Mehrin invite you to a discussion with Ann Altman, who will focus on her Moravian Jewish roots, the influence of the Holocaust on her family and her own fascinating life.
She was born in 1947 to Czech Jewish parents who fled to England before World War II. While they survived, all her grandparents died during the Holocaust. Ann Altman graduated from Cambridge and won the doctorate at Yale University. She worked as a scientist, politician and researcher, and in addition to the academic career, she devoted herself to democratization projects in Mongolia.
Come and listen to a story in which science, politics and deep personal experience with historical memory intertwine. Moderated by historian Táňa Klementová. The program will take place in English without interpreting. The program takes place in cooperation with the Brno City Museum. Admission 70 CZK.
