Anna has no one who you write. Anna lives alone in her house and her imagination. She is expecting her daughter, who lives only in her imagination. Anna is a prisoner of her memories. A solo piece about loneliness and overcoming loneliness. Love story and horror story at the same time - Anna's life. A timeless piece, a placeless piece that takes you into the wonderful world of a woman who lets her past, present and future become one. The power of their imagination is their elixir of life. Anna's magical realism.

Jan Drzeżdżon was born in 1937 in the Kashubian village of Domatowo. After studying Polish studies, he received his doctorate in 1970 for a thesis on Kashubian literature. From 1976 he was a literature lecturer at the University of Gdańsk. Drzeżdżon published his first literary works in Kashubian in the early 1970s. The monologue “Anna” is part of his first Polish-language publication in 1975. The translation of “Anna” is the first translation of a text by Jan Drzeżdżon into German. Jan Drzeżdżon died in Gdańsk in 1992.
