Anne Bretagne - une femme d'esprit

In Europe in the early 16th century, Anne de Bretagne (1477–1514) was a remarkable figure: as a duchess, she not only preserved the independence of her homeland through political skill, she also acted as one of the most important supporters of art, science and the fledgling printing press - and in the process gathered around her a court of highly educated women that was unique for her time. The Berlin ensemble Capella de la Torre and its director Katharina Bäuml illuminate Anne's fascinating life in the context of the music of her time.
