About event
"Anord na Bíse" offers a unique cultural experience. It is a joint project of the dance group inSpiral Dance Company and the music group Conamara Chaos. This evening features a rich repertoire of traditional Irish music and dance with a modern twist. Both groups are among the leading performers of the Irish music and dance scene in the Czech Republic.
inSpiral Dance Company is a school of Irish dances led by Tereza Bernardová, a qualified teacher of Irish dance who is a prominent personality in this area and has long together with other members of the family team, contributes to the development of Irish dance not only in the Czech Republic. The performing ensemble presents Irish dance in its various forms, in both traditional and modern concepts, in already given compositions or in their own choreographies.
Conamara Chaos is made up of musicians who have many years of experience with the genre from bands such as Dún an Doras or Marw and belongs to the top of this genre in our country. The group's repertoire consists largely of author's instrumental compositions by flautist Radvan Markus, a lecturer at the Charles University in Prague and a translator from Irish. The distinctive singing personality of the band is the singing double bassist Svatka Hlávková Štěpánková (collaboration with Pavel Bobek, Věra Martinová, etc.). Jana Markusová plays the violin, Martin Jankovec plays the guitar, and Ladislav Veselý drums on the bodhrán.
