History of Italy "Zoppa and blocked" in the 70s
There was a time when in addition to the corrupt and colluded politicians with the mafia and with the lobbies of power, there were some who were good people, men and women of high moral raise who really believed, even if perhaps a little naively, in the values of democracy. Also because that democracy had contributed to founding it on the ashes of the war. I am referring to characters such as President Sandro Pertini and as the protagonist of this film: Enrico Berlinguer, secretary of the former Italian Communist Party from 1973 until his death in 1984. Segre, tells a critical period of Berlinguer's life (vividly played by Elio Germano, capable of entering like few others in the skin of his characters), which goes from 1972 to 1978, and takes advantage of it to outline especially a fundamental part of the Italian history of the 70s, Bringing back to crucial events that will forever mark the future of our country, from the petrol scandal, to the massacre of Brescia, to the kidnapping and murder of Aldo Moro and the intertwining between secret services, farmers and deviated Freemasonry that will mark the end of politics with a capital P Pydae born in the post -war period. The film obtained five nominations for the 2025 silver and 17 nominations for David di Donatello, winning the prizes for the best leading actor and the best assembly, as well as the prize for the best actor at the Rome Film Festival.
